For the love of Cats
If you’ve ever dreamed of working with animals, fostering future rescue kitties, or just want to be a hero in the world of cat rescue, volunteering with our rescue partners is the purr-fect opportunity! This isn’t a free pass to the cuddle lounge—our rescue cats need real help with cleaning, feeding, and care. But if you’re willing to roll up your sleeves (and probably end up covered in fur), it’s a rewarding way to make a difference. Ready to lend a paw? Check out how you can get involved below!
Think you’re up for the task?
Our rescue cats need dedicated, hands-on volunteers to help with their daily care while they wait for their forever homes. Volunteers (aka Volunteer Cat Coordinators) work directly with our non-profit rescue partners to ensure these kitties stay happy, healthy, and well-socialized.

What You’ll Be Doing
-
Cleaning… and Then Cleaning Some More – This role involves A LOT of cleaning. Expect to scoop and scrub litter boxes, scrub food and water bowls, disinfect surfaces, steam floors and seating, and deep-clean water fountains. (If you love the smell of disinfectant and the sight of a sparkling clean cat room, you’ll fit right in.)
-
Administering Medications – Many of our rescue cats require medication, so volunteers will often be responsible for giving pills, topical treatments, and other necessary care under the guidance of our team.
-
Grooming & Basic Care – Brushing and nail trims
-
Feeding & Hydration – Making sure every cat gets their meals and fresh water
-
Health & Safety Monitoring – Watching for any signs of illness or behavioral changes
-
Assisting in Adoption Matches – Helping potential adopters find their purr-fect match by answering questions, sharing insights about each cat’s personality, and guiding them toward the best fit for their home and lifestyle.
-
Basic Tech Tasks – Using an iPad, spreadsheets, Google Drive, email, and text to check schedules and communicate with the team.

If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves, scoop some litter, and help cats find their forever families, fill out the volunteer application above and keep an eye on your email for the next orientation.
Once you have completed a scheduled orientation, we’ll reach out when a volunteer shift becomes available that matches your schedule and age eligibility. Please note that availability is limited, and there may be a wait list—but we appreciate your patience and can’t wait to welcome you when a spot opens up
Looking for a future job at The Chatty Cat Cafe? While volunteering doesn’t guarantee employment, it’s a great way to get involved and gain experience. In fact, our last two baristas started as volunteers! If you’re passionate about both cats and coffee, this could be the purr-fect first step.
