Volunteer
Volunteer support is needed in the daily oversight and care of cats being fostered on behalf of our non-profit rescue partners. These positions are called Volunteer Cat Coordinators and are selected in collaboration with The Chatty Cat Cafe and each Rescue partner
Requirements:

All prospective volunteers must be at least 18 years of age
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: -
Must love cats!

Prior experience working with or caring for cats
-
Must be dependable

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to handle cats of all sizes, ages, temperaments and needs safely and appropriately.

Provide friendly, professional, and compassionate customer service with maturity and good judgment
-
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Computer skills- ability to use an i-pad, spreadsheets, email, google drive, text
-
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Ability for frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, squatting, carrying, and reaching

Step 3) Once we have an opening, we will schedule a time for you to come to the cafe to complete the required paperwork and schedule an orientation date

Responsibilities include:

Assist in appropriately providing a safe, clean, organized, and pleasant experience for cats and customers.

Assist in monitoring customers in the cat lounge to ensure cats are being handled appropriately and complying with The Chatty Cat Cafe rules. Notify staff of any issues or concerns.

Actively engage in communication with customers in the cat lounge and assist with questions.

Follow and maintain cleaning, sanitation, and disease prevention protocols in order to provide a safe, clean environment. This includes keeping litter boxes clean, sweeping and mopping, washing cat dishes, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing surfaces, etc.

Provide cats with appropriate food and water.

Provide cats with mental stimulation and enrichment, social interaction with humans, and interaction with other cats in foster care.

Monitor the health of cats and rapidly identify any health issues

Monitor behavior of cats and rapidly identify any issues that may require special action

Provide basic grooming services to cats as needed.

Assist in administering adoption applications to customers upon request.

Assist in facilitating good adoption matches through conversation
